Metallocalix[n]arenes in catalysis: A 13-year update

• Metallocalix[ n ]arene complexes as catalysts in numerous catalytic reactions. The presence of the calixarene cavity allows for enhanced enantioselectivity. Cross-coupling, olefin oxidation and polymerization processes are most studied. Increased attention to ROP cyclic esters produce biodegradable polymers. Large flexible calix[ ]arenes can adapt energy requirements a process. Aside from their applications fields ion extraction, gas storage molecular sensors, calixarenes have been extensively employed ligands metal complexation.
